IBM Z Workload and Automated Operations

SEA’s Workload Automation software helps you improve the overall efficiency of your batch job operations and maintain consistently high levels of service.

Workload Automation solutions help mainframe shops provide a consistent set of controls and procedures, enabling mission-critical business processes to be completed on time and error-free. Our solutions empower you to meet QOS goals & SLAs more efficiently, while also providing the best service to your customers.

By automating routine tasks such as Job scheduling and Console management, you can maximize resource utilization and achieve more cost-effective use of IT resources.

Cost savings can also be gained through an efficient migration from a less efficient and more expensive preexisting solution.

System Automation

ODDS is an expert console automation system used to manage and monitor all primary Mainframe datacenter functions. ODDS enables datacenters to increase productivity, save time, and run more efficiently. ODDS automates virtually all mainframe datacenter functions - including IPL, shutdown, system performance monitoring and scheduling of system-service jobs. By automating these essential functions, ODDS provides orders of magnitude greater speed and productivity compared to what can be done manually by operators.

Features:

The user can define “rules” through the AutoRule Facility or Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) and store them as members of a partitioned dataset (PDS). ODDS/View provides the ability to automate the startup and/or shutdown of a network of started tasks on a z/OS platform under the control of a centralized monitor program. The Multiple Console Support Facility allows users to route WTOs and WTORs messages from z/OS-defined consoles to TSO terminals.

Workload Batch Scheduling

CSAR is a Mainframe Job scheduling Software that organizes and automates the production Job workload of your IBM mainframe. Non-optimized Job scheduling can cause conflicts and sluggish performance that undermine the efficiency of your Mainframe data processing and business operations. CSAR gives your computer operations’ staff a powerful set of tools to optimize your mainframe’s Job workload by improving scheduling, workload monitoring, resource utilization, and other factors that affect production.

Features:

CSAR performs real-time monitoring of running processes to identify underperforming processes and correct inefficiencies. CSAR monitors job logs, performs status inquiries, and analyzes job run statistics to make any necessary schedule changes to improve performance. CSAR is designed to enable flexible JCL processing. JCL may be stored in one or more partitioned datasets. Users can create “model JCL” which is then modified at submission time based on run date and configurable parameter values.
