System Output Management and Automation

SAVRS

SAVRS is a comprehensive and scalable output management solution that fully automates collection, archiving, viewing and retrieval of IBM Z job outputs, including JCLs, job logs, SYSOUTs and SYSLOGs.

SAVRS can be accessed via TSO/ISPF, native VTAM, CICS, Web UI, and IDz & Topaz plugins.

RESTful APIs allow users to integrate SAVRS data into applications running on non-IBM Z systems, such as Windows, Linux, mobile, and IOT devices.

Features of SAVRS

Self-optimizing Database

Using a proprietary compression algorithm, the SAVRS database ensures the most efficient use of mainframe DASD space. It has extended capabilities that support over 1 TB of online data and offers elasticity to accommodate data growth. The database can be dynamically enlarged while the SAVRS accumulator is running and while users are actively accessing the database.

High Availability and Robust User Interfaces

SAVRS ensures high-availability access to the database from many environments, including TSO/ISPF, native VTAM, CICS, Web browsers, IDz & Topaz plugins, and RESTful APIs. This positions SAVRS as the sole repository of logs across the enterprise. SAVRS RESTful APIs allow users to integrate SAVRS data into other applications, scripts, or programs running on non-IBM Z systems, such as Windows, Linux, mobile, web, and IOT devices.

Annotation or Acknowledgment Feature

SAVRS Annotation & Acknowledgement provides a communication platform for cross-shift problem resolution. Using predetermined acknowledgement codes, operation technicians on one shift can pass instructions to the next shift for issues arising from unsuccessful job executions, whose outputs are already in the SAVRS database. All job notes become an integral part of each job, accompanying it when a job is archived or recalled from Archive.
